Organization for Recovery, Inc. was founded in July 1997 as a private, non-profit treatment program primarily designed to treat opioid addiction to individuals 18 years and older.  Located in Plainfield, New Jersey, Organization for Recovery, Inc. has since expanded to meet service gaps for other outpatient treatment needs, including drug-free treatment, in the surrounding communities.

Organization For Recovery, Inc.'s mission is to provide comprehensive, high quality addiction treatment services and to be a community resource committed to preventing, reducing, and eliminating harm caused by substance abuse in the surrounding areas. 

OFR's philosophy of care includes the provision of high quality substance abuse treatment to all clients regardless of race, religion, ethnic origin, HIV status, sexual orientation, gender, age, or socioeconomic position.
